I assume the flute is programmed. Have you considered it being played by a real player? I think it would sound great on top of this background.

BenTibbetts responds:

It's really a question of time and money. It's better to hire live musicians when possible, but I didn't do that here.

I don't know exactly if it's this, but you might be quite out of tune at times. It could be something else though, anyway it is, some tones sound a bit off.

The guitar seems to be the same thing over and over, just with different chords. I think there is too little variation is what I mean with that.

The vocal melody is good.

I am bad at analyzing lyrics so I am omitting that part of the song. I am sure they are good.

In my opinion the s and k sounds are a bit too loud at the end of some lines.
Otherwise the singing is really nice.
Guitar is good too, but the emphasis on the first beat of every bar is a bit too strong for my tastes.
I am probably so picky because I listened to the original so often,so don't worry about it. It absolutely does sound good.

Really nice vocals. But I think your breathing is too noticeable. I don't know how to get around that either though.
Guitar work is nice too, but it seems like you could be a lot more confident and that that would make it better.

TylerFromTexas responds:

Thanks for the review, and that's very fair. I hope you check out my later covers as I've improved the audio quality and singing!

Really hard to listen to, but that's of course not a criticism.
Very creative. The production sounds a bit bad at times. Might be on purpose but I don't really like that. Like the clipping bass at some parts.

SynchroSpectre responds:

Yea the style can be hard to digest at points, you should listen to the UK Neuro scene where the inspiration is from like Copycatt and Frequent. Most of the tracks there can be jarring at times 😵
It's like the opposite of kid's future bass sound where the bass and chords have to flow really smoothly from section to section and even throughout the measure itself, whereas here it's made with very minimal effects and quick sudden chops. Personally, I hate electronic reverb lmfao, I use it for sound design purposes to make cool melodical chops but in most cases I would always kill all the tails right before every downbeat >:)

This seems very suspicious.

A recording of a concerto(which means there are dozens of musicians) in a concert hall(clapping at the beginning) uploaded just like that to newgrounds with no comments, only the title.

I really don't like the composition, but I admire this song for how loud it is. How do you do that?
I should probably watch more YouTube tutorials or something.

Pretty great for what it is. The beat, the reverb on the clap, everything just adds so much too the mood.

The next part is just me, but if you already only have arpeggios, then you could make the harmony a lot more exciting and complex. Like a J. S. Bach Prelude.

ArtDeepMind responds:

You are right, I could, I was probably just lazy, I relied more on the layering of the instruments in the hook to create the atmosphere.
Thank you very much for the feedback :)

What exactly makes this is prog? Honest question. Its well produced and Catchy, but that has nothing to do with prog.
