melody could use some syncopation. And some variation, rhythmic and harmonic. It's kinda boring the way it is now, ngl.

haha this is very old. i didn't know much about how music worked back then, so i really get what you're saying
Ahh those hihats that get lower in pitch at 1:30. That's really nice.
I think the bass would profit from some pauses. because of that distorted texture it gets kinda messy when it's played in "legato"
Thanks for taking the time to listen and comment!
I see what you mean by the bass, I'll definitely have to remember that for the future next time I use such a dirty bass
I assume the flute is programmed. Have you considered it being played by a real player? I think it would sound great on top of this background.
It's really a question of time and money. It's better to hire live musicians when possible, but I didn't do that here.
Really nice vocals. But I think your breathing is too noticeable. I don't know how to get around that either though.
Guitar work is nice too, but it seems like you could be a lot more confident and that that would make it better.
Thanks for the review, and that's very fair. I hope you check out my later covers as I've improved the audio quality and singing!
Really hard to listen to, but that's of course not a criticism.
Very creative. The production sounds a bit bad at times. Might be on purpose but I don't really like that. Like the clipping bass at some parts.
Yea the style can be hard to digest at points, you should listen to the UK Neuro scene where the inspiration is from like Copycatt and Frequent. Most of the tracks there can be jarring at times 😵
It's like the opposite of kid's future bass sound where the bass and chords have to flow really smoothly from section to section and even throughout the measure itself, whereas here it's made with very minimal effects and quick sudden chops. Personally, I hate electronic reverb lmfao, I use it for sound design purposes to make cool melodical chops but in most cases I would always kill all the tails right before every downbeat >:)
Pretty great for what it is. The beat, the reverb on the clap, everything just adds so much too the mood.
The next part is just me, but if you already only have arpeggios, then you could make the harmony a lot more exciting and complex. Like a J. S. Bach Prelude.
You are right, I could, I was probably just lazy, I relied more on the layering of the instruments in the hook to create the atmosphere.
Thank you very much for the feedback :)
Metal on NG that doesn't sound like it's been recorded in one take on an Answering Machine? That alone is worth this rating.
Very much appreciated. Absolutely not done in one take. haha. ;)
